So I was reflecting on last year, which started off really badly, and I slowly came to realise that it was in fact one of the best years ever! At the time I had been thinking, this sucks, I'm 19 and should be having a great time, but it's all work work work, for literally fuck all money... When I thought back at everything I'd done, it was such a fun summer! Apart from the work, naturally. In the spirit of things, I made a list of the highlights. Because lists are awesome, and everyone knows that

did my first festival gig!
fell out of a tree.
danced to my mates first ever dj set with 50 people, a man in a wolf costume, a pirate and a neon bride.
saw tokyo police club play on a boat.
played with custard powder.
saw the dark knight twice on consecutive days.
took pictures of a lamb and a ginger cat having a conversation.
unknowingly sat on a box containing £10,000 worth of canon eos 450 d's.
played mini-golf, badminton and ninja tennis soccer one bounce.
played tennis for the first time.
lay on the grass in the sun listening to reggae.
partied on the beach and connected with someone i didnt expect to.
worked a 12-hour shift, then cycled home in the dark.
watched the snow fall.
went to pier pressure for the first time, and a few times therafter.
danced to a pendulum dj set.
went shopping in cardiff.
went sailing in a crappy topper.
drank wine with my boss until 4 am, talking about the 80s.
bought a ginsters pastie for a tramp with lizi.
fractured my toe attempting a front flip in the sea. hobbled around for weeks.
played monopoly in a bar.
watched a lightning storm illuminate the corris uchaf valley, and nearly blow up the tv.
ate a mr.whippy and played with max's stunt kite/mountain board at ynyslas.
got stabbed in the eye with a wiimote (accidentaly).
broke a tent, apparently.
rode a bicycle down a hill in the rain and crashed into a gate.
had lunch in varsity on 3 occasions.
saw two midgets on the same day, in the same place, who were both lorry drivers.
walked from borth to furnace.
tied a teatowel around my head and flicked peas at people under the guise of 'sambo'.
met a reverend who sold other peoples paintings.
chopped wood. lots of wood. for many people.
bought a week to view diary.
dyed my hair.
played aerobi and had a barbecue at ynyslas.
met a nice girl on a station platform.
went bowling, and beat everyone.
talked about the past, discussed the future.
laughed non-stop for about 2 hours at stories from school days.
went rollerblading, drunk, at 5 am. then fell asleep on a wetherspoons bench.
lost a shoe.
recorded demos.
played endless, mainly military-related, videogames.
attempted to build a potato launcher.
spent an afternoon sailing around a lake.
watched the olympics with my brother.
had a haircut, interrupted by a tramp with a poodle in a diamond studded collar.
raced quadbikes.
played frisbee with four mates and a little girl who decided to join in.
had a night with my cousins where shouting "BIG ISSUE?!" at the top of your lungs in a funny voice was the answer to everything.

stood on a jetty with the sun setting and hugged someone special that i hadnt seen in half a year.


Hopefully this year will be twice as good, if could just get my current situation sorted. Gah!
